Lavandou breathes the flavours of Provence. Discover local products and treat you taste buds during your stay in the City of Dolphins.

The Provençal markets

Every Thursday morning, Lavandou’s market fills the city centre with life. You will find there all the local products, following the rhythm of the seasons. Coloured products and local flavours will arouse your senses and your taste buds.

Every first Sunday of the month, from May to September, an organic market animates Ernest Reyer square.

In July and in August, from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday, Lavandou’s craft night market invites you to discover local savoir-faire and products of the region.

Wines

In the heart of Lavandou, Domaine de l’Anglade is the only vineyard in the town. Surrounded by an outstanding setting, between abundant greenery and seaside, the vineyard offers quality white, red and rosé wines.

Around Bormes-les-Mimosas, 11 vineyards with the protected designation of origin Côtes de Provence offer wine tasting, selling, or even a tour of their property to discover local gastronomy.

Honey

First French department in the field of apiculture, Var offers quality honeys, thanks to a great diversity of aromatic plants, which have become a symbol of local gastronomy and are reputed all around the world. Var has quality pollen, especially in the Massif des Maures area around Lavandou.

During your stay in the City of Dolphins, be sure to taste one of our region’s many honeys. Saint-Clair’s honey farm offers a visit of the farm, followed by a tasting. Lavender honey, sweet chestnut tree honey, acacia honey, spring honey or multi-flower honey, treat you taste buds with sweet Provençal flavours! In Bormes-les-Mimosas, family farm La Butinerie offers natural honeys of different types which vary according to the seasons.

Olive oil

The region also has several olive groves producing olive oil, an emblematic product of the South of France. Var cultivates a quality oil thanks to rich soils and a great diversity of olive trees as there are more than 30 different varieties in the department!

Around Lavandou, several establishments welcome you to discover these olive groves through visits and tasting of their production.  Discover the making of this iconic product of Provence, as well as its recognised positive impacts.
